Wound Treatment Advanced Unit
The UATF (Wound Treatment Advanced Unit) is an integrated health unit in Leirivida and the first private unit dedicated to the treatment of wounds in Portugal.
In clinical activity since January 24, 2011, it is a unit with unique features, high quality, designed thinking on the citizen in order to intervene effectively, based on scientific evidence, improving the quality of life of a patient with wound (surgical, traumatic, leg ulcer, etc).
It consists of a multidisciplinary team of experts in the field of wounds and with specific training that make an approach in full, first preparing the patient for the therapeutic process outlined, later to proceed to the wound site treatment.
This team is ready to support and provide scientific answers, to people with all kinds of wounds, even the most complex and difficult healing.
The facilities are prepared for this purpose and equipped with the most modern equipment, has ensured accessibility to persons with limited mobility.
The following advanced treatments and techniques are applied:
Placement of advanced dressings;
Vascular Doppler;
Specific diagnostic test;
Compression therapy;
Negative pressure therapy.
In addition to these care, UATF also offers the services of:
At home Nursing consultancy;
Patient and family education;
Nutritional support.

Nursing Service
The Clinical Medicine, Nursing Service Leirivida consists of qualified and trained professionals, of higher and technical level, in continuous professional development according to the specialty and who treat patients with individualized care, caring daily for the quality of care and satisfaction of the sick.
The Clinical Nursing shares the humanitarian values of the institution related to ethics, social commitment, excellence, humanization, training and reliability, plus also the values inherent to professional activity developed that add solidarity, empathy and emphasis on respect to human dignity. |
At Home EmergencyFor medical emergency is meant a severe clinical condition suddenly manifested. Medical emergencies depend on the physician's discretion, since it will only be attended to at home patients with really urgent clinical situations.
The service order will be based on the arrival order of of applications and the degree of urgency set by the doctor on the basis of complaints. The Home Care application involves telecommunication of medical symptoms and must allow for the travel time of the doctor to the patient's address.
To the home of the patient, the doctor moves with a properly equipped medical vehicle. In home emergencies, medications will be provided to the beginning of the prescribed treatment, avoiding the night dislocation to the pharmacy. |
